What a food chain is

A food chain is an order of what organisms eat. It depends on their ecosystem. This means where they live. A food chain always starts with a producer an example of a producer is plankton. Then its consumer an example of what eats plankton is krill. And is forth. A producer is a living thing that makes its own food by sun and soil. A consumer is a living thing that eats other living things.

Tears of the Albatross

Tears of the Albatross is about a man called Timoti who is jealous because the tohunga had Albatrosses as his servants and Timoti wasn’t. Timoti had decided to see the tohunga so he dressed in his nicest clothes and went to see the tohunga. Timoti knew winter was coming up but he wanted the Albatrosses to take him home but he didn’t tell the tohunga that. The tohunga said to Timoti he will guide him home with his Albatrosses. So the Albatross took him home and Timoti had a different plan and it was to capture the Albatrosses so he did and he looked them in a cave and got a giant rock to cover the gap of the cave.


Tamaira and Naeroa saw Timoti block the cave with the big rock and when Timoti went Tamaira and Naeroa squeezed into the cave and  heard something crying they were getting scared. When they saw the Albatrosses they weren’t so scared any more. They stayed there but then the cave got blocked and only the Albatrosses were trapped but so was the twins Tamaira and Naeroa. Tamaira looked at the top of the cave and saw a star so they all climbed up and squeezed out of the little gap. The Albatrosses thanked the twins and gave a gift and it was the Albatrosses soft white feathers and they lived happily ever after.

My Weekend

On Saturday at 4:00 I woke up and my stomach was sore so I tried to go to sleep but i couldn't because my stomach was too sore so I went down stairs and I said to my Nan “ Nan my stomach hurts” and she said “lie down on you baby sisters side of the bed” so I did. I tried to go to sleep but it was too loud then somehow I just fell asleep.

 Sunday morning my baby sister came down stairs punched my stomach and told me to give her blanket to her so I gave it to her and I went into the lounge and I was going to fall asleep but instead I just lied down and after a while my uncle had a rugby game but I didn't go with them because I had to clean up.

 I cleaned up the whole day then I played dress ups and we watched finding nemo for my little sister and we were going to make a chocolate mask but my aunty had to go so the rest of the day we watched TV waited for my aunty and made bracelets and we went to church with my papa and he brought us a ice cream and a 1 litre bottle of fizzy each but I shared mine.

My holidays

In the holidays I baked with my nan. We baked two banana cakes, one chocolate cake and some cup cakes. When we were almost finished my other nan came over with my two little cousins and we played with them.

Then my baby sister woke up and I went to my sister picked her up and asked her if she wanted to play with me. We went to play mums and dads but there was no boy playing so we played with no brother or dad. When it was time for them to go we said bye gave them some cupcakes and cakes and  started baking again.

The next day we had breakfast and in the afternoon we ate some cake and cupcakes, afterwards we watched tv and then we cleaned up. After we cleaned up we went back and watched tv. The next day we ate the rest of the baking and I got ready to go with my aunty because I wanted to stay at her house for a little while.

My aunty came and picked me up at 6:30 then we went to pak n save and brought some breakfast stuff. Later on we went to her and I watched her turn on her small computer and we watched once upon a time because the others didn’t work. When the tv got turned I watched both of them. The movie we were watching on tv was puss in boots, I don’t really like puss in boots its so boring.

A little while later we had dinner, for dinner we had kumara chips, corn on a cop and steak. In the morning  there was a meeting so I woke up and had porridge for breakfast then I had a shower. After I went outside and played with her dogs Manava and Holden.

 

After I  didn’t feel like playing with the dogs anymore I played with this boy I think he’s my cousin. After I finished I asked my aunty if I could ring my nan she said yes so I rang her but she wasn’t there so I talked to my papa. When ‘we were finished we said bye and hang up.

A few minutes later my big cousin came out with some doritos and said that we can have the rest. Suddenly I felt like going inside but I didn’t because my cousin wanted to play tiggy so we played tiggy inside and outside. When we felt tired instead of playing tiggy we played hide and go seek.

When the meeting started my family started coming and started saying hello. After a while my bigger cousin came and learnt a song and we sang the song while my aunty recorded us. After we finished singing the song my aunties uncles and cousins were saying sing another song and I got a lovely voice.

After I was finished singing my biggest sister asked me if I wanted to go the shop and I said yes so we went and we went to burger king because my aunty wanted some. When the meeting was finished my grandparents were singing some cook island songs. After my grandparents were finished singing I went home with my nan and she dropped off my other nan then we went home.

I didn’t want to go home because I wanted to stay at my aunties house and play on her giant computer. When I got home I said why did I have to go for and my nan said because my aunty has work. Later I watched tv then I got tired and went to bed.

In the morning I had breakfast then my aunty came with my baby cousin and I played with her all day. The next morning I kept begging to play on my papas computer but he said no so I went up stairs. A little while later I woke up watched tv and my mentor came and I wasn’t dressed to go with her so I quickly ran up stairs had a shower got dressed and went with her.

We went somewhere but I forgot where we went. When I came home I said bye and then she left. The other week I stayed home, cleaned and my mum and dad came over so I played with them the whole week and played on their phone. We had a challenge on their phone because there is this game its called who wants to be a millionaire. My dad was doing it on my uncle and on the game it said he won  64,500 dollars.

Antarctica

If you go to Antarctica you might figure some weird but interesting facts about Antarctica, like Antarctica is two times bigger than Australia, there is 70% freshwater there and 90% of Antarctica is covered in ice.

There many different wildlife, like humpback whales, seals, orcas and penguins. Antarctica is the coldest, driest and windiest desert in the world. Scientists and researchers life there too. Their job is to keep an eye on the warmth so all the wildlife listen to ‘Katareina wildlife’ on Audioboo

Whales

Whales are large mammals that live in the ocean. There many different whale species. They are divided in two groups and split up. Some whales have teeth and some don’t. A male whale is called a bull, a female whale is called a cow and a baby whale is called a calf. Whales are considered the sprinters of the sea.

My fiction story

Once upon a time there was a puppy that had brown spots his name is Daxtah. He was playing in the garden with his bone. Then his owner Lucy came and started playing with him. They were playing fetch. The owner threw the bone very far and the dog ran after it.

 After a while Lucy forgot about the dog and started watering the plants then went inside.The dog was lost. A little girl found the dog and took the dog to her house. The next day Lucy woke up and put the dog food in the dog bowl and called out Daxtah but Daxtah did not come. Lucy just remembered that he was lost. She went out to look for Daxtah. So she started printing off photos of Daxtah and started putting it around all over the place.

 Then the little girl took Daxtah out for a walk and saw the sign and she was so sad. Lucy was still looking for Daxtah in her car until she saw the little girl crying with Daxtah next to the sign so she stood out of her car and went to the little girl and asked her “what is wrong” so she said that she found a dog called Daxtah and kept it and today she found a sign that said lost dog called Daxtah. Lucy was sad so she offered the little girl Daxtah the little girl said yes please so Lucy let her keep Daxtah and then they all lived happily ever after

Our Special Visitor

Today after morning tea we had a special visitor and my whole school went to the hall. I didn’t go to the hall straight away because I had to practise the maori dance that my group did at fiafia and I didn’t sit with my class. At assembly Mr Burt talked to us for a little while and he told who the visitor was and the visitor was Will.i.Am. We were really excited because not many famous has ever came to one of my schools or this school. He came to our school to give Manaiakalani a large cheque that had $100,000,00 for mathematics, scientific tools. He talked about his life, what his dream is and we can’t choose you're family but you can choose you're friends. I was shocked when Mr burt told us who the visitor was.

Rugby league

hope you like it Every Tuesday room thirteen is having Rugby league training for five weeks. Today our coach James was teaching us how to catch and pass but first we did some warm ups and James put us in two groups and one of them had to put on some blue bands. The warm up was called Benji says. If you're wondering how to play benji says well its just like simon says. The second activity was my favourite but I don’t know its called. To play the game we had to pass it ten times to you're team mate but if the other team stops you and the other team gets the ball you have to start again. The Third activity was duck duck goose. Duck duck goose isn’t like real duck duck goose its a game that you play with a ball.So the first person who has the ball passes it to the next person and runs around the circle twice while the others throw the ball in the circle until the person who ran around the circle twice comes back. The next activity for training was Catching passing and scoring a try. The second time we played Catching passing and scoring a try my team lost. When we were finished catching passing and scoring a try we played octopus. The taggers were Shavana and Sohel. I was in the last three. Im hoping yous already know how to play octopus if you I will tell you, so you line up on the line the teacher picks two taggers and when the teachers says octopus you run but if you get tagged you have to stand like seaweed and you can only move you're arms and you can sway left to right. I love Rugby league.
